The US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) is proud to serve as a co-sponsor of the 19th International Human Rights Summit, hosted by United for Human Rights at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. As part of our role in this prestigious event, we are building an official USIDHR Delegation to attend the Summit.

This exclusive opportunity is open only to a select group of USIDHR consultants, students, and volunteers who have shown exceptional dedication to advancing human rights through education and advocacy.

The Summit will bring together youth delegates, policymakers, dignitaries, and human rights leaders from more than 60 countries. Past participants have included Nobel Peace Laureates such as President José Ramos-Horta, President Oscar Arias Sánchez, and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

Why This Summit Matters

More than 75 years after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), fundamental rights continue to be violated around the world. This Summit is a powerful global gathering dedicated to turning awareness into action through human rights education.

Over three days, participants will:

  • Attend high-level sessions with international advocates, officials, and educators

  • Participate in a dynamic youth leadership workshop

  • Celebrate global achievements at an awards ceremony honoring human rights defenders

  • Form partnerships and friendships with delegates from more than 50 countries

Apply to Join the USIDHR Delegation

We are selecting just 20 delegates from among our community to officially represent USIDHR at the United Nations. As a member of the USIDHR Delegation, you will:

  • Gain official entry to the United Nations Headquarters

  • Represent USIDHR on a global stage of changemakers

  • Network with fellow advocates, policymakers, and global leaders in the human rights space

Please apply only if you are fully committed and able to attend. Because of limited space, “maybe” responses cannot be considered. If selected and you do not attend, it will prevent another deserving individual from participating.

Travel and accommodations are at your own expense.

How to Apply

Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis among eligible applicants.
To apply to be part of the official USIDHR Delegation, please complete the form no later than June 27, 2025:
