USIDHR's Youth Summit took place on April 1-4, 2022 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

ABOUT THE EVENT

USIDHR Youth Summit

The USIDHR Youth Summit, organized in collaboration with esteemed partners like the United Nations and UNICEF, brought together 150 young leaders from 50 countries in Istanbul, Turkey. This comprehensive 3-day event focused on human rights leadership, equipping attendees with vital tools to drive change in their communities. Our collective goal, through this partnership, was to empower these passionate individuals to become effective advocates for human rights upon their return to their home countries.

The USIDHR Youth Summit featured esteemed international guests, including influential figures like Queen Mother, the Ambassador of Goodwill for Africa at the United Nations; Hon. Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka, Governor of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Sheikh Kasem Bader, President of the Universal Peace Council; and H.E. Hussain Ismail, Minister for Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment from Maldives. The event also welcomed UNICEF representatives, diplomats, and Turan Hançerli, Mayor of Avcilar Municipality, who graciously acknowledged and supported our initiative to host the Youth Summit in Istanbul's Avcilar area.
