ABOUT THE EVENT
The Global Summit on Sustainable Futures for Women and Youth (GSWY 2025), held from April 7–11, 2025, in Istanbul, Türkiye, brought together over 500 delegates from 76 countries to advance the United Nations Pact for the Future. Hosted at the prestigious Deniz Köşk Hall on the Sea of Marmara, the Summit welcomed high-level leaders, policymakers, and changemakers for dynamic discussions on six key areas, including economic empowerment, inclusive governance, education, and climate leadership. Participants took part in workshops, networking sessions, and received a Certificate of Achievement as Certified Sustainability Advocates, accredited by the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. A highlight of the event was the signing of the Avcılar Declaration—a milestone commitment by municipalities to support youth and women in sustainable development.
GLOBAL SUMMIT ON SUSTAINABLE FUTURES FOR WOMEN AND YOUTH IN ACTION
The Global Summit on Sustainable Futures for Women and Youth brought together an outstanding group of speakers, including government officials, international diplomats, and experts committed to advancing sustainable development. The Opening Ceremony was hosted by Olivia Cantu and Laura Daugherty, featuring keynote speeches from Mr. Manuel Oancia and H.E. Dr. Isabelle Vladoiu of the USIDHR, Mr. Utku Caner Çaykara, Mayor of Avcılar, and H.E. Sese Site, General Director of Youth from the Government of Equatorial Guinea. They were joined by esteemed voices such as H.E. Amina Farah of IGAD, H.E. Advocate Didier Kimbumbu Dido of the DRC, and other distinguished leaders from Romania, Nigeria, and the United States. Special recognition goes to Mayor Çaykara and Avcılar Municipality, who actively supported and attended the Summit, reaffirming Avcılar’s commitment to global cooperation and sustainable development.
