Discover the historic European debut of USIDHR's flagship Washington, DC executive certification, welcoming 60+ delegates from five continents, held in Amsterdam on July 2–3, 2026

ABOUT THE EVENT
The US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) marked a historic milestone by bringing its flagship International Business and Diplomatic Protocol Executive Certification, traditionally offered exclusively in Washington, DC, to Europe for the very first time. Held in Amsterdam on July 2–3, 2026, the inaugural European edition welcomed more than 60 delegates representing Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, creating a truly global learning environment focused on diplomatic protocol, international business etiquette, cross-cultural communication, and executive leadership. Professionals traveled from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, Hungary, Greece, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Angola, Cameroon, Nigeria, the Republic of Moldova, Thailand, the Philippines, France, and other countries to take part in the prestigious executive certification.
More than a professional development program, the certification became a global meeting point where executives, entrepreneurs, diplomats, government officials, nonprofit leaders, educators, and international professionals exchanged perspectives, built meaningful international relationships, and strengthened the global partnerships that define today's interconnected world. The program was led by Dr. Isabelle Vladoiu, diplomatic protocol expert, human rights specialist, and global security specialist. As Founder and Chairwoman of USIDHR, Dr. Vladoiu has trained more than 30,000 professionals worldwide — including diplomats, policymakers, government officials, executives, and international leaders — in diplomatic protocol, business etiquette, cross-cultural communication, and diplomatic leadership. She also serves as Faculty in the Department of Security and Global Studies at American Public University System (APUS/AMU) and brings more than a decade of experience in public and NGO diplomacy, helping leaders navigate high-level international environments with confidence, professionalism, and cultural intelligence.
Throughout the two-day certification, participants explored the foundations of diplomatic protocol, including forms of address, diplomatic hierarchy, order of precedence, flag protocol, executive presence, official representation, international business etiquette, diplomatic correspondence, official visits, high-level meetings, formal dining protocol, and cross-cultural communication. Through interactive exercises, case studies, and practical simulations, delegates gained the skills necessary to represent themselves and their organizations with confidence in any international setting.

THE CERTIFICATION IN ACTION
In addition to diplomatic protocol, the certification emphasized human rights diplomacy as an essential pillar of international engagement. Dr. Vladoiu introduced participants to the United for Human Rights educational initiative and presented each delegate with a copy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, reinforcing that respect for human dignity and fundamental freedoms remains central to effective international cooperation and sustainable peace.
"Protocol is often viewed as a set of rules, but in reality it is the foundation of respect, trust, credibility, and effective international leadership."
— Dr. Isabelle Vladoiu, Founder & Chairwoman of USIDHR
The success of the Amsterdam certification extended well beyond the classroom. Delegates from multiple continents formed lasting professional relationships, exchanged international best practices, and established new partnerships across sectors and cultures. The diversity of backgrounds transformed the certification into a living example of diplomacy in action, demonstrating how protocol serves as a bridge between nations, organizations, and people. Upon successful completion of the program, participants were awarded the International Business and Diplomatic Protocol Executive Certification and welcomed into USIDHR's distinguished global network of certified professionals committed to advancing excellence in diplomacy, international business, and cross-cultural leadership.
The successful European debut of USIDHR's flagship Washington, DC executive certification represents an important milestone in the organization's international expansion — bringing world-class diplomacy education to Europe while strengthening an international community of professionals dedicated to building stronger global relationships through diplomacy, protocol, and leadership. The next International Business and Diplomatic Protocol Executive Certification will take place this September in Washington, DC.
